Got a event coming up next weekend and i dont have any spares , so i need to know if a mk2 cv joint will fit on a mk1 ( both cars are gti s ). i will also be able answer the great question -which car handles better mk1 or 2.kforkevin.

Entering cambells rally time trial next saturday ,just worried about the drive shafts as im double driving, and im not liking loose surfaces.kforkevin.

Hi Kev,

I'm not sure if outer Cv joints are inter-changeable or not. But I think mk2 Gti has different splines to mk1 Gti. I think mk1 has same drive shafts as G13A mk2s.mk1 ph2 has same setup as mk2 Gti but as far as I know there is only 1 in Ireland and it is owned by Dara!
