993cc Brake Master Cylinder

Postby Walmo » Wed Sep 19, 2012 6:48 pm

Does anyone know which ports on the brake master cylinder of a 2002 993cc Swift brake the front & rear wheels?

I took the original lines off ages ago & got sidetracked by other projects...

hi, how many outlet ports on the master cyl ? most modern cars have a cross system - rear left joined with right front and front left joined to rear right . kforkevin.

If it's any help, on the Vitara, the primary is closest to the brake pedal and serves the front brakes, and the secondary furthest and serves the rear.

I would expect the Swift to be the same, if the fronts are both on one pipe, and the rears on the other.

I've just checked & there are 3 'M10' ports in total.

2 are in parallel pointing to the drivers side inner wing & 1 is pointing vertically to the bonnet.

I've just checked the Brake Piping diagram in the Parts Catalog, but there are too many variants of the 1 liter Swift and I can't zero in on the right one.

Can you please say:

How many doors (3,4, or 5) - yes, it makes a difference.

ABS or no ABS

The VIN.

With that, i should be able to identify the right diagram, screen grab it and post it here.

I have found one diagram which may be relevant, which shows two pipes from the RHS going to the 5 way joint on the right wing area, and one pipe from the top going to the LH front wheel.

It's a 3 door.

Non-ABS.

VIN - TSMMAA44S00881530.

Thanks in advance.

Bingo :D

For future reference, your car is a SF310-3 (Magyar).

The diagram below should answer your question. Bear in mind that the Primary section of the Master Cylinder is closest to the reservoir. I believe the diagram has one error - the numbers 10 and 11 have been transposed.

Cheers for the info - much appreciated.

Can you post a better diagram - I can't enlarge it on my PC to see the detail :(
