Ignition barrel removal

Postby oldvanman » Thu Sep 08, 2022 10:45 pm

G'day
The keys to my van were stolen and I have replaced the door locks but am not able to replace the ignition barrel. There is nothing in the workshop manual and I have googled with no success. Usually there is a hole that allows a spring clip to be pushed and release the barrel.
Has anybody know how?

You could try sending a private message to >> alamontana <<. He is a very knowledgeable Suzuki technician who was able to explain something which was puzzling me a few years ago. I don't know if he is still active on this forum but it will be worth trying if contact can still be made. I believe he lives in the north of England, in the Newcastle area.

G'day

Thankyou for the advice but the pressure is off as my keys were found amongst other stolen goods. So I just have to decide if I change the door locks back or keep using 2 keys.
My workload has increased dramatically so I dont have any spare time at the moment anyway.
When and if I do change the barrel, I will post the results.
